Automate regular endpoint management routines like installing patches, deploying software, imaging and deploying OS. It's not really the ESET setup.Endpoint Central augments a traditional desktop management service, offering more depth and customization. However, that's just to clean up garbage applications from your endpoints. In terms of maintenance, that will need time. When we first set it up I just tried to enable all the alarms for the unwanted applications, for things that looked suspicious. It gives alarms and there are so many alarms. You need time with ESET for cleaning out PUAs and potentially unwanted applications. It is not super complicated if you have a bit of knowledge. If anyone has some security background, they will figure it out. You've got to just look at it, however, it's easy enough to figure it out. That said, that has to add some IPs and some policy sets. We want to allow some type of traffic over the IPsec when people connect to remote. However, we use IPsec, so the firewall needs people to remote in and remote out. It's not very straightforward if you want some customization, for example. The solution is in the middle of complex and simple. ESET is also closing that gap in terms of their abilities. Brands like CrowdStrike, et cetera, are beginning to step in into the top of the pile in terms of their technology.

Trend Micro is also almost there on the top of the pile, yet not exactly on top of them, however, they're pretty much there.

McAfee is losing its place since they've messed up with the build and all the stuff. Symantec is still there on the top of the pile. Defender is there as a professional, full-throttle product. That's one aspect. Nowadays, that scene has changed drastically. In contrast, McAfee, Symantec, Defender, and Trend Micro would come in the top bracket in terms of the top performance, along with CrowdStrike and stuff like that. Sentinel One and ESET maybe would compete with each other along with Kaspersky and stuff like that. Maybe two years back, ESET was a product that would be a mid-range product. I've also used McAfee, Trend Micro, and Symantec. I had Microsoft Defender to use, so that is why I moved away from ESET.
